The Bicycle Thief

Created at Dutch Kills Bar in 2010 alongside friend and colleague Abraham Hawkins. I named the drink “The Bicycle Thief” as an homage to the Italian roots of the drink (the spirit body being taken from the Italian classic Negroni cocktail). I had recently watched the classic Italian film Ladri di Biciclette - the bitterness of the cocktail reminded me of the film’s devastating finale. 

  • 1 Gin

  • 1 Campari

  • ½ Grapefruit

  • ½ Lemon 

  • ½ Simple Syrup

Served tall with soda, garnish with an orange slice.
